PTBA in analysis

PTBA is quite good in performing, as usual, this stock is very aggressive moving upward as it moved upward around 20-30% in the last 2 months.

Well, in my analysis, this stock is resisted at 18150. As the bear signal is moving toward it. Stochastic is at overbought area, the RSI is too, as well as the MACD is almost or maybe at its peak. As I see the Stochastic has formed a dead cross, but hasn't been confirmed by MACD which is still moving upward.

See the chart...

Rating: Sell On Strength, TP 18200 Support 17800.

Be careful, tomorrow might be corrected quite a lot.

SMGR in analysis

Well, as I told you several days ago that one of my picks is SMGR.

Fundamentally, no doubt that this stock will increase especially for long term.

Technically, this stock will increase as the MACD is at the reversal point, yet the last three days trade all only touch the uptrend support line. At the last day, the power of bull arrive at this stock. Well, MACD is reversing upward, as the Stochastic had golden crossed & will continue its rally.

Rating: Buy On Strength, TP: 7550-7600

Window Dressing (Cont.)

What Does Window Dressing Mean?

A strategy used by mutual fund and portfolio managers near the year or quarter end to improve the appearance of the portfolio/fund performance before presenting it to clients or shareholders.

Window Dressing

Performance reports and a list of the holdings in a mutual fund are usually sent to clients every quarter. To window dress, the fund manager will sell stocks with large losses and purchase high flying stocks near the end of the quarter. These securities are then reported as part of the fund's holdings.

Another variation of window dressing is investing in stocks that don't meet the style of the mutual fund. For example, a precious metals fund might invest in stocks that are in a hot sector at the time, disguising the fund's holdings, so clients really have no idea what they are paying for.

Window dressing may make a fund appear more attractive, but you can't hide poor performance for long.

Window Dressing

Window Dressing is a window in a shop displaying items for sale or otherwise designed to attract customers to the store. Usually, the term refers to larger windows in the front façade of the shop. Display windows at boutiques usually have dressed-up mannequins in them.

In this case, this is not the window dressing we're talking about. The window dressing we're talking about is in investment term. Well, in investment, there's a fund manager that manage a firm's account (stock) that is responsible for the stock price.

Window dressing is a Santa Gift given to us in order to earn profit at that time. Why can we get profit? Fund Manager of a firm must show their best portfolio to the candidates of investors, which means to attract the investors, they must have a good quality of portfolio.

On of the way is by doing window dressing, increasing the price of the stocks. This is what retailer loves that as they can earn much money at that time. Remember one thing, once the window dressing time is finished, its our time to exit the market for a while.
